LADIES OF DÜM IS A WOMEN’S DRUMMING ENSEMBLE LED BY DARBUKA EXTRAORDINAIRE RAQUY DANZIGER.

This electrifying show features drum compositions by master drummers across the globe, arranged for a Middle Eastern percussion ensemble. A treat for the eyes as well as the ears with audience participation, this show takes you on a rhythmic journey, introducing different styles of drumming from around the world. The darbuka (dumbek/ doumbek) Middle-Eastern goblet drum is the star of this show!

with Canadian Tap Dance champion Lady Bruce and the mystical bowed instrument the King Kemenche Tarhu

Repertoire includes works by Zakir Hussain, Max Roach, Chemirani Trio, Zohar Fresco, Fred Astaire, and more!

Ladies of Düm are:

- Raquy Danziger is a celebrated performer, teacher, and composer known for her expertise on the darbuka, the Middle-Eastern goblet drum. Raquy has performed and taught around the globe from the great concert halls of Egypt to remote towns in Siberia, spreading love and excitement for darbuka drumming.

- Lady Bruce is a percussive dancer, teacher, choreographer, and musician from Callander, Ontario.

- Anna Dirnberger is a music- and movement pedagogue, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Vienna, Austria. She works as a piano teacher and a music teacher in the field of adult education.

- Hyungoo Sung is a musician and percussionist from Seoul, Republic of Korea.
